The opportunity:

Joining Powerlink as an apprentice means becoming part of a professional and supportive team, working and traveling across Queensland on cutting-edge projects with leading technologies.

Throughout your 4-year apprenticeship program, you will gain valuable experience under the supervision of highly skilled tradespersons. In addition to completing your trade, you will also earn various qualifications, including a First Aid certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and high-risk work licenses such as Elevated Work Platform.

The people you’ll join:

As a Powerlink apprentice, you'll work alongside industry experts and teams based in Townsville, Gladstone, and Brisbane and play a hands-on role in delivering essential state-wide transmission services to over 5 million Queensland customers, helping to connect them to a world-class energy future.

Please note that our apprentices are required to travel regularly throughout Queensland and work on a 9-day roster.

If you're interested in learning more about the apprenticeships we offer at Powerlink, visit our dedicated apprenticeship site at Apprenticeships | Powerlink page or reach out to our Recruitment team.

What you’ll bring:

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Hold a current Queensland driver's license (manual required or be willing to obtain).
  • Have your own means of transport.
  • Have completed Year 12 (or be in the process of doing so), unless you are a mature-aged candidate (over 21 years of age).
